Applewood Manor is extremely excited to be the title sponsor for the Gran Fondo National Series Asheville event scheduled for July 27, 2022. The Asheville event is also the series and USA Cycling national championship for the gran fondo discipline. So what, you ask, is a gran fondo? Gran Fondo is an Italian term which loosely translates to “Big Ride”. Gran Fondo’s are mass participation cycling events that have enjoyed incredible popularity in Europe for decades and have become popular in North America, Asia, Australia and increasingly, worldwide. Is it a yes? Yes. Do you have to race or can you just ride for fun? Yes. Distances offered include 30, 60 and 100 miles. The ride is fully supported with rest stops and lots of activities before and after the ride. The Applewood Manor will host receptions the day before and after the ride.
